Judy James Carter aka, Soshen Amuntyt is a lover and avid reader of history, philosophy, religion and Kemetic (Egyptian) religion and spirituality. She is priestess (Uab) in the Temple of Amun in Rock Hill, SC. Temple of Amun is affiliated with the Sema Institute and the Temple of Aset in Miami Florida, under the leadership of Dr. Muata Ashby and Dr. Karen Dja Ashby. She has been a student and dedicated servant of the Sema Institute and Dr. Muata Ashby for over twenty years. Judy Carter was born in Greensboro North Carolina. She received her degree from A&T State University in Engineering Physics. While in college Judy did an internship at Fermi Lab, America's particle physics and accelerator laboratory. She worked as an engineer at Rockwell Int. and as a software engineer at IBM. Judy continued her work as a Project Manager & contractor for Wells Fargo and Bank America. After working for over 30 years in the Information Technology she retired from Corporate America. Judy Carter also worked in several community non-profit initiatives in the Charlotte community including starting a Saturday program for children in an economically neglected community in westside Charlotte where she and her partner received recognition by the City of Charlotte for their works. Judy Carter was also co-Founder of CB Publishing and Design, a Self-publishing company that published over 150 books by Black authors. Subject matter included titles ranging from poetry, self-help, novels and history. She has written two books herself. Her first book, The Jesus Chronicles Old Truths Uncovered is a book that uncovers facts relating to the mythical and historical Christ. Her second book, the Power of Prayer is a book of personal reflections. As priestess of Temple of Amun, Soshen Amuntyt’s service to the community continues. She looks forward to the building of a physical Temple in Rock Hill, SC dedicated to Amun (Amun is the hidden divinity inside us all). The Temple of Amun’s mission is the dissemination of a teaching that embraces an authentic African mystical religion that leads the individual into a state of peace and enlightenment. Her personal goal is to grow the Temple and be available to all who wishes to be a part of this great Shetaut Neter (Hidden mysteries) teachings and spiritual awakening. Soshen Amuntyt presently lives in Charlotte, NC. She is the mother of two, Carol and Janelle and the grandmother of Nyameche Williams.
