Greetings and welcome to the Temple of Amun. The Temple of Amun located in Rock Hill, South Carolina is for spreading of the Ancient Kemitian (African Egyptian), teachings of Shetaut Neter. Shetaut Neter is an Egyptian term meaning secret of the God.
The God Amun is the Hidden Essence of all things. Amun was self-created and fashioned himself... none knoweth his forms. There was no god before him, there was no other god with him to declare his form. All the gods came into being after him.” Amun protected the weak against the strong, and the oppressed against the oppressor. He honored the humble, strengthened the weak, healed the sick, fed the poor and needy, protected the orphan, relieved the widow, and assisted every one who called his name in their distress.
The Temple of Amun meets every Sunday at 11 am.
The mission of the Temple of Amun is to give the Charlotte community another alternative spiritual expression that embraces an authentic African experience which leads the individual into a state of peace and eventual enlightenment.
As an affiliate chapter of the Sema Institute of Yoga, the Temple of Amun is committed to the propagation of the teachings of Shetaut Neter and Smai Tawi under the direction of Sebai Maa (Muata Ashby) and Seba Dja. Our local chapter is headed by Unut (Priest) Amunty, an ordained priestess of the Sema Institute.
